The History of the Annual Chesapeake Poster
Three years before the Millennium,
a series of annual limited edition posters, signed by Nancy Hammond, would lead into the new century.
Starting with a low price so everyone could afford one,
and as they became less available, the price would rise,
(the usual case with limited editions).
The first poster in 1997, a Chesapeake Noah's Ark,
was appreciated and sold out by Christmas.
It was a quiet beginning.
We continued to release a poster every year.
When the Millennial year 2000 poster was released,
lines started forming the day before and all through the night.
